Located in Wailea on Maui, Hawaii this is a great beach for any beach goer. Easy parking makes your trip stress free and different from the typical road-side beaches.
The south half of the beach is located directly in front of the Andaz resort which always has people but never seems too crowded. The north section of the beach is open and quiet.
There is even easy access to a slightly shaded walking trail that goes for miles. At this beach there are restrooms, easy access to paddle boarding and lava rocks that extend out 1/8th of a mile into the ocean.
Resort style beach. People are coming and going more often than other beaches on Maui. A rental area from the Andaz resort makes for easy access to water activities.
People stay to themselves (mostly on their cell phones) at this beach and you might not even be noticed by others as you walk down the beach.
Families with children typically gather at the northern point on the beach away from the cabanas.
The beach is open from 7am to 8pm. The early hours from 7am to 10am make for great snorkeling, swimming laps or a quiet morning jog along the beach.
After 10am small 1 – 2 foot waves can form. In the summer months, a swell usually sets in around the afternoon and can produce quick, choppy waves that can be fun to play in.
After 5pm in the evening, this can be an active fishing spot for locals. Word of caution: if it rains or is after 4:30pm, it is recommended to stay out of the water because sharks have been seen near this beach.
